This wine tour lasts about two and a half hours and takes place at a family-run winery located in the Valpolicella region near Verona. The visit begins with a walk through the vineyards where the family history and estate details are shared. You will see the traditional drying room where Amarone grapes undergo the Appassimento process. Next, the tour continues to a rural house and a 17th-century cellar used for winemaking and aging. The tasting includes a selection of red wines produced on site: Valpolicella, Ripasso, and Amarone. The winemaker guides you through how to assess the wines by sight, smell, and taste. Alongside the wines, you will sample local Monte Veronese cheese, Soppressa Valpolicella salami, and a special cherry chutney. The tasting takes place on a terrace that overlooks the Valpolicella hills, offering a wide view of the surrounding landscape. You'll start with a walk in the vineyards surrounding our Winery in Marano di Valpolicella. We'll tell you the family history about wines and estates. You'll visit 17th century cellar and the special traditional room to dry grapes: Fruttaio. You'll see steps of the wine process and the refinement of our great red wines in oak barrels. Finally you'll taste a selection of our fine wines Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone, learning the evaluation by sight, smell and taste. We'll pair it with our organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, local cheeses called Monte Veronese and Soppressa from Valpolicella (a kind of salami).
