Overview

The Dolomites in northern Italy feature distinctive peaks and lakes surrounded by mountain scenery. This full-day tour from Venice travels by comfortable Mercedes-Benz van to several key locations in the Dolomites over about 8 to 9 hours. The trip begins with a scenic drive to Cortina d'Ampezzo, a well-known mountain resort that hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics and will co-host the 2026 Games. Visitors have around 45 minutes of free time to walk along Corso Italia, the town's main pedestrian street, shop, or have a coffee. Next, the tour stops briefly for photos at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a famous mountain group symbolizing the Dolomites. Afterward, the van heads to Lake Braies (Lago di Braies), the largest lake in the Dolomites. Guests can spend 1.5 hours (or 1 hour in winter months) walking the 3.5-kilometer trail around the lake or opt to rent a wooden rowboat for 45 minutes (not included). The lake remains accessible year-round, though it freezes from late December to late March. The itinerary continues with a short stop at Lake Misurina for scenic photos of the lake and views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. During the winter season, there is an optional snowmobile ride up to Monte Piana at 2,325 meters altitude for an additional fee, allowing photo opportunities before descending by snowmobile or sled. After completing the visits, the tour returns to Venice by van. The departure time is 7:45 AM, and travelers should arrive 15 minutes earlier for check-in. Lunch and hotel pickup are not included in the tour price.
