Overview

The Dubai desert has long been home to Bedouin tribes, and this six-hour 4x4 safari explores the red dunes surrounding the city. After hotel pickup in an air-conditioned luxury 4x4 Jeep, the drive crosses desert plains where the guide explains the area's geology. The first stop is a camel farm where guests can see herds of camels and take a ride around the enclosures while learning about different camel breeds found in the region. Next, the vehicle moves deeper into the desert to a campsite. Here, participants can try sandboarding on the dunes and get henna tattoos on their hands or feet. The camp also hosts a tanoura folk dance performance as the sun sets over the desert landscape. Guests may choose to relax outside or take another camel ride. Dinner is served as a live BBQ buffet featuring lamb chops, marinated chicken, beef burgers, barbequed potatoes, rice, lentil curry, and a vegetarian option if requested. The meal begins with salads and dips such as hummus and ends with Arabic coffee and dates. After dinner, guests can smoke shisha and watch a belly dance show around the campfire. The tour concludes with hotel drop-off under the stars. This desert safari includes dune bashing for about 20 to 30 minutes, tea or coffee served with dates, unlimited soft drinks and water, a fire blower show, and use of air-conditioned 4x4 vehicles for transfers. Alcohol and quad bike or dune buggy rides are not included but can be purchased separately.
