Overview

The Dubai Overnight Desert Safari with BBQ, Stargazing & Camel Trekking at Al Khayma Camp lasts about 18 hours. The tour begins with a hotel pickup in a 4WD air-conditioned vehicle and a drive to the Lahbab desert. Upon arrival, there is a 20-minute break with bathroom facilities. Guests may choose to ride a quad bike or buggy at their own expense during this stop. The safari continues with 30 to 45 minutes of dune bashing across the sand dunes. After dune bashing, guests can try sandboarding using wooden boards provided on site. Next, the group travels to Al Khayma Camp, a Bedouin-style campsite, where each guest is assigned a private air-conditioned tent for the overnight stay. Upon arrival at the camp, guests receive a welcome with Arabic coffee (Qahwa), sweets (Gaymat), and dates. A short camel ride around the camp is included and can be repeated. Depending on the timing, guests may visit a nearby dune to watch the sunset and take photos. At the camp, guests can try henna painting (recommended only for those without sensitive skin), smoke shisha pipes, wear traditional Arabian clothing for photos, and participate in a falcon experience. Dinner is served as a barbecue buffet featuring Emirati, Moroccan, and Arabian dishes prepared by the Michelin Star restaurant at Al Khayma Camp. Live entertainment includes a mega fire show, traditional Yola dance, and a falconry display. After the camp lights are turned off, stargazing with a telescope is available. The camp provides free Wi-Fi and shower facilities (without towels) for overnight guests. During the night, guests can relax by the campfire while a guide shares desert stories. Before sunrise, guests are taken on a 10 to 15-minute camel trek to a sand dune to watch the sunrise. Following the trek, a freshly prepared Arabic breakfast is served at the camp. The tour concludes with transportation back to the hotel or selected location. Unlimited mineral water and soft drinks are provided throughout the trip. The licensed English-speaking driver handles all transfers and activities. Optional quad bike and buggy rides are available at the desert break but are not included in the price.
