Overview

This full-day bus tour in Isla Verde covers two of Puerto Rico’s main natural attractions: El Yunque National Forest and Laguna Grande’s Bio Bay. The tour includes round-trip transportation, a guided rainforest hike, and an evening kayak trip. The day begins with a scenic drive including a stop at a local fruit stand before entering El Yunque National Forest. The guide leads a hike along natural trails featuring native plants and wildlife, with some river wading and rock climbing. Visitors can swim in natural pools, stand under waterfalls, use natural waterslides, swing from ropes into the river, and jump from rock formations. There is a break for dinner at a local restaurant (not included in the price) before heading to the Bio Bay. At Laguna Grande, participants receive kayaking instructions before paddling about 30 minutes through a Red Mangrove Forest. The guides identify local flora and fauna along the way. After sunset, the bioluminescent waters light up with glowing organisms that react to paddle strokes and movement in the water. The kayak tour lasts about two hours and completes the 12-hour day. The tour is conducted in English with Spanish translation available if needed. It includes safety training, all required equipment, refreshments, and photographs from the rainforest segment. The local guide is trained in lifeguard skills, CPR, and first aid. Guests should be physically fit due to moderate to strenuous terrain and kayaking demands. There are age and weight limits, and the tour is not recommended for certain medical conditions.
