Overview

This electric bike tour lasts about 6 to 7 hours and includes a local guide to lead the route along the Mediterranean coast near Marseille. Riders use electric bicycles, helmets, and yellow jackets provided for the trip. The route covers roughly 22 miles (35 kilometers) starting from the city and moving south toward the Calanques, a series of rocky inlets along the French Riviera coastline. The tour begins with a stop at Palais du Pharo, where participants get a clear view of the Old Port. From there, the group cycles through Vallon des Auffes, a small harbor, and along La Corniche, noted as the most beautiful cycle path in the area. Other stops include Parc Balneaire du Prado, known for being Marseille’s longest city beaches, a small unnamed harbor, and a viewpoint overlooking Maïre island. The route continues to La Calanque de Callelongue inside the Calanques National Park, where there is time to swim. Lunch is available for about an hour at a local restaurant offering pizza and fresh fish, or guests can choose to have sandwiches on the beach instead. After lunch, the tour visits Parc Borely, a large park, and the CEPAC Velodrome, a site related to Marseille soccer. The day finishes with a stop at Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde, offering wide views over the colorful Old Port of Marseille. Food and drinks are not included unless specified. Gratuities and hotel or port pickup and drop-off services are also not included. Participants should bring their own towel and sunscreen. The ride requires an intermediate fitness level, with riders expected to pedal about 22 miles. Children aged 12 and above may ride their own bikes, while younger children from age 10 can join in a trailer attached to an adult’s bike. The tour has a minimum age of 4 and a maximum of 75, with additional fitness requirements for riders over 60. Beach areas have no lifeguards or changing cabins.
