Overview

This private tour to Cape Sounion lasts about four to five hours and begins with a pickup from Athens in an executive car or mini van with air conditioning. The drive follows the Athens Riviera, passing coastal suburbs such as Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza while the driver shares local information. Upon arrival at Cape Sounion, guests spend approximately two hours visiting the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon, which stands on a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. The temple offers panoramic views of the sea and nearby islands on clear days and is historically significant in Greek mythology. After exploring the temple, the tour continues with time to enjoy the majestic sunset over the sea. During this time, guests can have a glass of wine. Following the sunset, dinner is served at a nearby seaside tavern with views of the illuminated temple. On the return trip to Athens, there is an optional stop to enjoy a waffle with ice cream, a local specialty. The tour includes private transportation, an English-speaking driver with local knowledge (not a licensed guide), dinner, and a Greek culinary gift. Entrance fees, gratuities, licensed guides, and ice cream are not included unless selected.
