Overview
The 6-hour Etna Countryside Food and Wine Lovers Tour begins with a 10 AM pickup from accommodations in Taormina, Letojanni, or Giardini Naxos by a licensed local guide driving an air-conditioned Mercedes minivan. Guests may select either a small group tour with up to eight people or a private tour for their party. The tour travels through the Etna countryside, passing Sicilian villages with traditional lava-stone houses and views of vineyards on Mount Etna. The first stop is a family-run winery where guests take a guided cellar tour followed by a tasting of five Etna wines paired with local cheeses, salami, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes. Next, the tour continues to an antique farmhouse restaurant in the countryside, where guests enjoy an organic lunch made from products grown on volcanic soil and prepared according to ancient recipes. The lunch includes typical Mount Etna delicacies, pastries, and local liquors. The tour includes round-trip transportation, all food and wine tastings, pastries, liquors, and hotel pickup and drop-off in the specified towns. Pickup and drop-off in the Messina and Catania areas are not included unless a supplement is paid. A vegetarian option is available upon request at booking. The tour requires a minimum of two guests.
