Overview

This guided bus tour lasts about three and a half hours and begins with a meeting near Amsterdam Central Station. After a short walk to the coach, the group travels to Zaanse Schans, a windmill village featuring historic working windmills and wooden green-painted houses and shops dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors spend around two and a half hours exploring this open-air museum. The tour includes a visit to a cheese farm where participants learn about traditional Dutch cheese making and have the opportunity to taste local farmer cheese. Next, the group visits the clog museum, which also functions as a wooden shoemaker's workshop, to watch craftsmen making clogs and other wooden items. If selected, the tour provides a voucher for an Amsterdam Canal Cruise operated by Stromma. This ticket is given at check-in and can be used separately at the guest’s convenience. The canal cruise departs near Amsterdam Central Station, passes through the 17th-century UNESCO-listed canals including Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht, and includes an audio guide in 19 languages and commentary from the captain. The tour includes a multi-lingual guide, coach with air conditioning, cheese tasting, and visits to the clog museum and cheese farm. Food, drinks, hotel transfers, and entrance inside the windmills are not included.
