Overview

This 3-hour and 15-minute jeep tour on New Providence Island covers cultural, historical, and culinary highlights of Nassau. Guests ride in custom open-air, stretched Jeep Wranglers driven by a guide who provides commentary throughout the trip. The tour begins with a drive-by view of the Queen's Staircase, currently closed for renovations; the guide explains its history. The vehicle then passes Fort Fincastle, an 18th-century fort. Next, the group stops at the Bahamas Rum Cake Factory for a 15-minute tasting of locally made rum cakes soaked in tropical fruit-flavored rum. Following this, guests spend about 15 minutes sampling native Bahamian bush teas and natural beverages with information on their benefits. The tour continues with a 30-minute guided visit to John Watling's Distillery, including a history of the site and rum samples. Afterward, there is a 30-minute visit to the Junkanoo World Museum & Arts Centre, where guests see costumes and instruments, dress in Junkanoo attire for photos, and take part in a live music and dance session related to Junkanoo, the Bahamian cultural festival. The final stop is at Drifter’s at Da’ Fish Fry in Arawak Cay, where guests spend 30 minutes tasting native Bahamian foods such as conch fritters, tamarind-glazed chicken wings, and fish strips. Dietary substitutes can be arranged upon request. Bottled water is provided throughout the tour. Pick-up and drop-off are included. Local beers are available for purchase but are not included in the tour price. This tour offers a funky and engaging way to explore Nassau’s culture, food, and music.
