Overview

This private tour in Cairo lasts about 6 and a half hours and includes hotel pickup and drop-off by modern vehicles. You meet a qualified Egyptologist guide at 9:00 am who drives you to the Giza Plateau to start with the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the only surviving ancient wonder. Then you visit the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, along with the smaller Queens' pyramids. You spend around two hours exploring these pyramids, including a 30-minute camel ride on the plateau. The tour includes entrance to the Queen’s pyramids and the option to enter inside the third pyramid of Giza. Next, you visit the Valley Temple beside the Sphinx, a statue carved from a large rock featuring a lion’s body and a human face. After exploring the temple and the Sphinx, you head to the Tomb of Meresankh III, an Old Kingdom tomb known for its well-preserved wall reliefs, vivid original colors, and carved burial chamber. Lunch is provided at a restaurant during the day. Throughout the tour, the Egyptologist guide offers detailed explanations of the sites. The tour ends with transportation back to the hotel. Gratuities are not included. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the tour.
