Overview

This 3 hour and 45 minute boat tour in Grand Cayman visits three main snorkeling sites: Stingray City Sandbar, Starfish Point, and Coral Gardens. The tour carries up to 30 guests per boat and is guided by Cayman natives. The first stop is Stingray City Sandbar, where guests spend about 35 minutes swimming and interacting with 30 to 40 Southern Atlantic stingrays in shallow, calm water between 3 and 5 feet deep. This area formed in the 1980s when fishermen discarded bait, attracting the stingrays that remain today. Guides demonstrate how to safely feed and touch the stingrays in their natural environment. Next, the boat travels to Starfish Point, where guests spend about 25 minutes snorkeling in shallow water around 3 feet deep to find and observe Caribbean starfish. This site is accessible and suitable for all ages. The final snorkeling stop is Coral Gardens, a coral reef under about 10 feet of clear turquoise water. Guests spend about 35 minutes here observing a variety of tropical fish, Moray eels, underwater plants, and other marine life. The tour includes the use of snorkeling equipment, bottled water, carbonated beverages, and air conditioning on the boat. Snacks, lunch, towels, and sunscreen are not provided.
