Overview

This walking tour covers about six hours through Prague’s historical sites, legends, and lesser-known places, guided entirely in a language other than English. The morning focuses on Prague circa 1900, including events from the Holocaust and the Prague Spring. The guide discusses the city’s past while walking through historic courtyards and galleries, ending the first part near the Astronomical Clock and sharing insights into Jewish culture, its customs, and cuisine. The afternoon continues uphill to Prague Castle’s outer areas, including the first two courtyards and a changing of the guard ceremony. The route then passes through the Lesser Town, including the Knights of Malta, John Lennon Wall, and Charles Bridge. The guide draws from personal experience and local knowledge to engage guests in conversation rather than scripted commentary. Tram tickets to ascend Castle Hill are not included. Entrance to synagogues and the Jewish Cemetery is external only. During Christmas and Easter periods, access to Prague Castle’s free areas is restricted, and alternative sites are visited instead. Translation support for medical emergencies is available through contact with the Italian Embassy. The tour includes visits to both well-known and hidden non-touristic locations in Prague.
