Overview

This guided day trip from Cairo takes you to Alexandria for about 4 to 5 hours of sightseeing. The tour starts early with hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza by a private air-conditioned vehicle. You will then drive approximately 220 kilometers to Alexandria, a journey of around 2 and a half hours. Once in Alexandria, the first stop is the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a three-level tomb combining Roman and ancient Egyptian art. Next, visit the Ancient Roman Amphitheater, known for its marble construction and mosaic floor. Following that is a visit to the Alexandria Library, the world’s second largest library, where you can take photos from outside if your visit falls on a Friday, as the library is closed then. The tour continues to the Citadel of Qaitbay, where you can walk freely around the Corniche. Lunch at a local restaurant is included, though drinks are not. The last visit is to the Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi, a significant religious site named after a revered figure. After the mosque, the tour returns to Cairo, arriving back at the hotel around 6 PM. Throughout the day, a bottle of water is provided, and other options such as entry fees and a tour guide can be included depending on your selection.
