Overview

This guided hiking tour of Mt. Rainier National Park lasts about 10 to 11 hours and covers a variety of landscapes from alpine glaciers to old-growth forests. The tour departs from Seattle downtown or near the Space Needle, where pickup and drop-off are provided. After a two-hour drive to the park, the group hikes about a mile near the Paradise visitor center at 5,500 feet elevation, including a picnic stop close to glaciers. The hike continues back to the visitor center before visiting several viewpoints. The tour includes stops at Narada Falls, where participants hike to the base of the 168-foot waterfall, and Christine Falls, visible from under an old stone bridge. The route also passes Reflection Lakes, known for Mt. Rainier reflections in summer and frozen conditions in winter. A walk through old-growth forest near Longmire at lower elevation is part of the itinerary. The tour uses trekking poles and provides snowshoes or crampons when necessary between November and June due to snow on the trails. In winter and spring, snowshoeing replaces regular hiking, and no previous experience is required. The vehicle is air-conditioned throughout the trip. Lunch is not included.
