This walking tour in the UNESCO World Heritage Medina of Tunis lasts about two and a half to three and a half hours and is led by a certified guide familiar with the area. The tour begins with a visit to EzZitouna Mosque, the oldest and largest mosque in Tunis, covering 5,000 square meters with nine entrances and 184 columns, mostly from Carthage. The mosque opens at 2:30 pm. Next, the group visits Dar Lasram, a traditional Tunisian house of 2,250 square meters, featuring a shop and service area on the ground floor, the main house upstairs, and a guest house on the upper level. This building is shared by the Medina Safeguarding Association and the Tahar-Haddad Cultural Club. The tour then proceeds to Slimania Medersa, built in 1754 by Ali I Pasha in memory of his son Suleiman, located near EzZitouna Mosque at the corner of Souk El Koutbiya and Souk El Kachachine. Afterward, participants walk through Souk Al Attarine, known for its perfumes and beauty products. The tour includes a 30-minute break at a notable café in the Medina. Following the break, there is a brief visit to Hammouda Pasha Mosque and Souk el-Birka, the goldsmiths' market, then a quick look at Hammam el Kachachine. The group also visits the souk of traditional Chaouachine and stops for a photo near Dar El Jeld, an old residence now used as a gourmet restaurant. The tour continues along Rue du Pacha, which features several monuments including Dar Hammouda Pasha, Didi Ben Arous Mausoleum, and Hammouda Pacha Mosque. Finally, the group visits Arts Center Bir Lahjar, a madrasa that hosted Malikite students from across Tunisia. During the tour, there is an option to visit either Bir Lahjar or Slimania Medersa. The tour includes guiding services but does not provide private transportation.
