Quan Ba Heaven Gate

Quan Ba Heaven Gate, also called Quan Ba Pass, is located in Quan Ba District, Ha Giang Province, Vietnam. It stands over 1500 meters high and is situated about 43 kilometers from Ha Giang city. This location marks the start of the road known as the 'road of happiness' and serves as the first entrance to the Dong Van Karst Plateau.

Ma Pi Leng Pass

Ma Pi Leng Pass is a mountain pass at 1,500 meters altitude located between Dong Van and Meo Vac in Ha Giang province near the Chinese border. It lies on national road 4C, nicknamed 'The Happiness Road', which was constructed over 11 years during the 1960s mainly by local ethnic minority workers. The pass is known as the King of Vietnamese mountain passes, featuring cliffs, abysses, and many hairpin bends along the route.

Nho Que River Boat Trip

There are several roads winding down to the Nho Que river, some of which are very steep with many hairpin turns. Locals offer motorbike rides down these roads to avoid driving. At the river, a one-hour boat trip is available for 300,000 Dong (about 12 dollars), passing steep mountains and cliffs. The pass is often covered in clouds, but the boat trip usually provides good visibility. Kayak trips can be arranged in advance through local homestays or tour operators.
