Overview

This private black taxi tour lasts about three hours and covers key Harry Potter film locations in London with hotel pickup and drop-off from selected hotels. A local guide who also drives the taxi leads the tour and shows movie clips on an iPad at each stop. Visitors can get out for short walks and photos at many locations. The tour begins at Westminster Abbey, the Ministry of Magic site from The Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows Part 1. Then it moves to King’s Cross Station with the Platform 9 3/4 photo spot and souvenir store. Nearby is 12 Grimmauld Place in Islington, the Order of the Phoenix headquarters. Next is Borough Market, where a hidden entrance to the Leaky Cauldron appears in the Prisoner of Azkaban movie. Leadenhall Market follows, showing the Leaky Cauldron doorway from the first film. The tour includes a stop at Millennium Bridge, destroyed by Death Eaters in Half Blood Prince. The taxi also crosses Lambeth Bridge, featured in the Knight Bus scene. If time allows, the tour visits Cecil Court, the inspiration for Diagon Alley, and finishes with a view of St. Pancras Station, where the flying car scene occurs in Chamber of Secrets. This is not the Warner Bros Studio Tour. The guide adjusts the itinerary based on timing and group preferences. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included.

Itinerary

1

Westminster Abbey

This stop features the Ministry of Magic location from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, where Harry and Mr Weasley attend a hearing after Harry uses magic outside school. A red London telephone box is used as the entrance. The same location appears in Deathly Hallows Part 1 when Harry, Ron, and Hermione enter the Ministry to retrieve a Horcrux from Dolores Umbridge.

15 min

2

King's Cross Station

Here visitors see the Platform 9 3/4 setup by Warner Bros for photos with a trolley appearing to pass through a wall. If time allows, there is a chance to visit the souvenir shop. The guide may also take the group onto the station platform to show the actual filming location of the sequence.

20 min

3

The Islington

Located near King’s Cross, this residential street features 12 Grimmauld Place, the secret headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. Guests are invited to spot the specific house used in the films.

10 min

4

Borough Market

This famous London outdoor food market has numerous stalls and cafes. Among them is a concealed entrance to the Leaky Cauldron, the wizard pub and gateway to Diagon Alley as seen in the Prisoner of Azkaban. The Knight Bus scene where Harry exits also takes place here.

15 min

5

Leadenhall Market

This Victorian market is known for its ornate architecture and serves as the location of the Leaky Cauldron pub entrance in the first Harry Potter movie. It is where Hagrid takes Harry to purchase his wizarding supplies before starting at Hogwarts.

15 min

6

Millennium Bridge

A brief stop is made at this modern pedestrian bridge, which is shown being destroyed by Death Eaters in the opening of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

5 min

7

Lambeth Bridge

The taxi drives over Lambeth Bridge, notable for the scene in Prisoner of Azkaban where the Knight Bus squeezes between two double-decker buses on its way to the Leaky Cauldron.

8

Cecil Court

If time permits, visitors walk down this pedestrian street with small independent shops. This street inspired Diagon Alley, as JK Rowling reportedly thought it was the perfect model while writing the first book.

5 min

9

St. Pancras International Station

The final stop shows the backdrop of St Pancras Station, where Harry and Ron fly to Hogwarts in the Weasley family’s flying blue car in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
