A guided Heli-hike glacier experience you will never forget! Franz Josef Glacier Guides are proud to share with you the very best of New Zealand's glaciers, the iconic Franz Josef Glacier. Start your journey with a scenic helicopter ride from Franz Josef township. Fly over lush rainforest and snow capped mountains before landing on the glacier. After landing exclusively on the glacier, your guide will help you put on special ice gear and lead you on a safe and exciting walk on the ice. The guides have an extensive amount of experience and are specialists in their craft. Safety is top priority with each trip tailored to the ability of your group, as well as the conditions of the ice on the day. Heli Hike tours are limited and very popular so be sure to book early!

Glacier conditions change rapidly and as such we cannot fully brief you on current conditions. In general ice steps on our trips can be over 400mm (1.3 feet) high. This height can challenge people with low physical fitness or low levels of agility. Due to the risks involved on our glacier trips we do not take anyone who is, or may be, pregnant.
