Overview

Passengers board a mid-sized whale watching boat designed for close encounters with Humpback Whales in Hervey Bay. The tour lasts about five hours and offers two daily departures: a morning cruise with morning tea and buffet lunch, and an afternoon cruise with an antipasto platter and buffet dinner. The boat limits passenger numbers to 75% capacity, providing space on multi-level viewing decks both inside and outside for good views of whales performing behaviors such as breaching, tail slapping, spy-hopping, and mating. During the cruise, guests can listen to whale sounds through a hydrophone and view underwater footage with cameras. Live commentary is provided in English, with translations available in French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Filtered water, tea, coffee, herbal tea, and milo are included. We'll depart from the Great Sandy Straits Marina out towards Platypus Bay, where the mighty Humpback Whales come to rest and play. Some of the behaviours we'll observe are: breaching, spy-hopping, pec-slapping, tail-slapping and lunges. We usually see our resident bottlenose dolphins playing with their Humpback whale friends too. Cruising alongside the West Coast of K'gari (Fraser Island), we may even be lucky enough to spot a dingo. Our 1/2 day morning or afternoon cruise will leave you with cherished memories to last a lifetime. Choose from our Extended Morning (5 hour cruise) or our Afternoon + Sunset (4 hour cruise).
