The journey begins with a 3-hour drive along the highway to Ninh Binh, including one or two comfort stops. The first site visited is Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam from the 11th century, where travelers see King Dinh Temple and the ruins of the old citadel. Next, participants take a two-hour boat ride on the river at either Trang An or Tam Coc (depending on the option chosen).
