Overview

This 30-minute jet boat ride takes place on the Waikato River in Taupo. Passengers wear life jackets and receive a safety briefing before departure. The boat is expertly driven by a local jet boat driver-guide who provides informative commentary throughout the ride. The journey includes rapid spins and fast turns as the boat passes alongside rugged cliffs and native bush. It travels at speed toward Huka Falls, reaching close to the base of the falls to provide eye-level views of the water. Heated handrails are available during cooler months for passenger comfort. Cameras can be brought but must be held securely by passengers, while video cameras are not allowed for safety reasons. Warm clothing such as jackets, hats, and gloves is recommended in winter.
