Guests are transported to the operator’s headquarters, which includes well-equipped bathrooms and free coffee. After a safety briefing, participants start a two-hour ATV ride across Hafravatn Lake and through the Icelandic wilderness. The route first ascends Reykjavik Peak, where riders can stop to view Faxafloi Bay, Esja Mountain, Reykjavik city, and the Blue Mountains. The tour then continues to the steeper Lava Fields Mountain, offering additional views including steam rising from the Hellisheidi Geothermal power plant. The tour includes a professional instructor-guide and all necessary gear such as helmet, gloves, overalls, ski mask, and rain gear. Pickup and drop-off service is provided about 30 minutes before and after the scheduled departure time. Alcohol and drug use are strictly prohibited during the tour, and participants under the influence are not eligible for a refund. Group size is limited to 20 participants.
