Overview

The Isle of Skye lies off Scotland’s west coast, known for its rugged landscapes and coastal views. This full-day bus tour from Inverness includes a visit to Eilean Donan Castle, situated on a small island at the meeting point of three sea lochs. After leaving Inverness, the tour stops at Invermoriston for a short break with photo opportunities and restroom access. Next, the journey continues past Loch Ness to Eilean Donan Castle, where there is about one hour and twenty minutes to explore the castle grounds and surrounding scenery. The tour crosses the Skye Bridge onto the Isle of Skye, heading to Portree, the island’s main village. Here there is a one-hour stop for lunch and time to view the harbor with its boats and surrounding hills. The bus then stops briefly at the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock for photo breaks. The return trip includes a refreshment stop at Kyle of Lochalsh and a short pause at Lochcarron, where views of Strome Castle are possible from April through October. This approximately 12-hour coach tour features air-conditioned transportation and live commentary by a knowledgeable driver-guide. Tickets to enter Eilean Donan Castle are optional and not included.
