Dolmabahçe Palace was built by the 31st Ottoman sultan, Sultan Abdülmecid. Construction began on June 13, 1843, and took 13 years to complete. The palace was opened for use on June 7, 1856, designed with Western architectural influences to support the Ottoman Empire's modernization efforts.
Buyuk Mecidiye Camii
The Büyük Mecidiye Mosque, also known as Ortaköy Mosque, is located on the Bosphorus coast in the Ortaköy neighborhood of Beşiktaş district. Built in 1853 by architect Nigoğos Balyan, it features Neobaroque architecture and was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid.
