Gedikpasa Hamami in Istanbul covers 2,350 square metres and has a 16-meter-high ceiling, built in 1457 by Gedik Ahmet Pasha near the Grand Bazaar. The bath is divided into separate men’s and women’s sections, each served by same-gender therapists. The 1-hour spa experience begins with a 15-minute rest on a warm marble stone, followed by a 10-minute scrub using a traditional kese mitt to remove dead skin, and ends with a 20-minute foam massage. Guests receive towels, single-use slippers and underwear, and have access to a private changing room. The ritual includes Turkish coffee, tea, sherbet, water, Turkish delight, nuts and fruit. Optional add-ons include a classic oil massage in a private room and a foot massage, as well as the option to use a private section for greater privacy. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not provided, and tipping is not included. The hamam is not suitable for pregnant guests or those with heart disease, diabetes, or asthma. The ritual combines a hot marble stone rest, scrub, and foam massage in one continuous treatment designed to cleanse and refresh the skin.
