by Stargazing Joshua Tree
This professional stargazing tour in Joshua Tree lasts two hours and is led by an experienced astronomer who guides participants through the night sky. The session begins with learning how to find north and locate seasonal triangles, constellations, and planets using high-powered laser pointers. Participants use keypad-operated telescopes that are pre-programmed to automatically point to a list of celestial objects, making it easy to view each target. The tour regularly includes viewing galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, double and binary stars, planets, Earth’s Moon, globular clusters, and comets. When timing allows, the International Space Station and Starlink satellites may be observed passing overhead. The guide shares educational stories about ancient civilizations, Greek mythology, and the evolution of the cosmos throughout the session. Tea, coffee, blankets, and Yogibo Loungers are provided for comfort during the outdoor viewing. Astro-binoculars are also available for additional observation. Transportation and restroom facilities are not included. The tour is not recommended for travelers unable to stand for at least 30 minutes.
