Overview

Kakadu National Park in Australia is known for its vast landscapes and natural features. This day trip from Darwin uses air travel to cover the long distance efficiently, with about 7.5 hours total duration. The tour includes over two hours of scenic flights, offering views of the Arafura Coast, extensive floodplains, winding rivers, the Arnhem Land Plateau, and, during the wet season, Jim Jim and Twin Falls. The flight includes live commentary and guaranteed window seats to help identify landmarks. On arrival, the tour includes a Yellow Water River Cruise lasting approximately two hours, where participants can observe local wildlife and landscapes from the water. There is also time for lunch at Cooinda and a visit to an Aboriginal Visitor Centre. National Park fees, lunch, drinks, headsets for the guide’s commentary, and all taxes and fees are included. Hotel pickup and drop-off, as well as customer car parking, are not included. Passengers must check in 30 minutes before departure. The tour requires a minimum of four people to operate and may be canceled if this number is not met. Flights depend on weather conditions and can be postponed or refunded if canceled. Passenger weights must be provided at booking due to aircraft weight limits, with a maximum weight of 130 kg. The company follows Kakadu National Park’s flight restrictions, including limits on flying over Jim Jim and Twin Falls during the dry season. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The company may refuse carriage to passengers who pose safety or disturbance risks.

Passengers must check in 30 minutes before the stated departure time for all flights. Late departures may impact subsequent flights. If a passenger expects to be delayed, they should notify the operator immediately to receive alternative arrangements.
Children are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times during the tour.
A minimum of 4 passengers per booking is required. If this minimum is not met after confirmation, the tour may be canceled and passengers will be offered either an alternative or a full refund.
Flights depend on suitable weather conditions. If a flight is canceled due to adverse weather, passengers will be offered either a rescheduled date or a full refund.
All passenger weights must be provided when booking. This is necessary because Kakadu Air uses light aircraft with strict take-off weight limits, and flights will not operate if weight limits are exceeded for safety reasons.
There is a maximum individual weight limit of 130kg due to aircraft safety and balance requirements. Passengers weighing this amount should contact reservations directly.
The Company retains the right to cancel or postpone any flight without prior notice if a situation arises that could compromise the safety of the flight or tour.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time will result in full forfeiture of the payment.
Kakadu Air adheres to the Kakadu National Park management’s voluntary 'fly neighborly policy' which restricts flights to minimum heights and lateral distances from approximately 30 locations, including Jim Jim and Twin Falls. These falls can be overflown during the wet season when roads are closed, but no flights occur over them in the dry season when roads are open.
The Company and pilot in command may refuse to carry any passenger considered likely to cause annoyance, offence, or pose a safety risk to others on the flight.
If service is refused due to passenger drunkenness, annoyance, offence, or threat to safety, the Company accepts no liability for any inconvenience or costs incurred by the passenger or freight as a result.
