Overview

Visitors spend about 6 to 10 hours at the Kennedy Space Center near Cape Canaveral, located 45 minutes from Orlando. The admission includes access to the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour when available, which travels through restricted NASA property to the Apollo/Saturn V Center. Here, guests stand beneath the massive Saturn V rocket, view interactive exhibits about the Apollo missions, experience a simulated launch from the firing room, and can touch a piece of moon rock. Inside the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, guests can watch IMAX films at the 5-story theaters, see Science on a Sphere’s astronaut’s view of space, and children can play in the space-themed Children’s Play Dome. The Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit features over 60 interactive displays and a close-up look at the shuttle itself. The Shuttle Launch Experience Simulator recreates the sights and sounds of a space shuttle launch in a custom crew cabin. The Heroes and Legends exhibit includes the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame and honors NASA’s fallen heroes. Visitors meet a veteran NASA astronaut during the Astronaut Encounter show and can view the Rocket Garden with historic rockets. The tour also covers the Gateway “NASA Now and Next” exhibit and the Journey to Mars: Explorers Wanted display. Additional time can be spent at the Space Shop, the largest space-themed retail outlet, offering items like space food and lithographs. Astronaut autograph sessions often take place there in the afternoon. All entrance fees and taxes are included. Transportation to and from the center and parking fees are not included, and admission is restricted on rocket launch blackout dates.
