Overview

This 3-hour boat tour starts at the waterfront near Kotor’s Old Town, where passengers board a new luxury boat operated by a licensed captain who also serves as the guide. The first stop is Our Lady of the Rocks, a man-made island formed over centuries by seafarers laying stones after each successful voyage. Visitors spend about 20 minutes exploring the 17th-century Roman Catholic church, which contains 68 baroque paintings and silver plaques depicting maritime scenes. Next, the boat heads to the Blue Cave, a sea cave formed by waves against a 100-meter-high cliff. There is a 20-minute stop for swimming and snorkeling in the cave’s clear blue water using provided equipment. After the swim, the boat cruises past Mamula Fortress on Mamula Island, a circular island about 200 meters wide with a 19th-century Austro-Hungarian fortress built for defense. Passengers can view the fortress from the boat and learn about its military history. On the return trip, the boat enters a submarine tunnel carved into the cliffs during the Yugoslav era, originally built to hide and protect submarines during the Cold War. This tunnel passage lasts about 10 minutes before the boat returns to Kotor. The tour includes bottled water, life jackets, raincoats if needed, free Wi-Fi, snorkeling gear for the Blue Cave swim, and all fuel and insurance costs. Admission fees are not included.
