Overview

This 3.5-hour tour starts with hotel pickup within 5 kilometers of Kuala Lumpur city center, available in the morning or afternoon. The first stop is the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre on Ampang Road near the embassy district. Visitors spend about 30 minutes watching demonstrations of pewter crafting, including casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering, and engraving, at the world’s largest pewter factory. The tour then continues to the East Coast Batik Factory for approximately 30 minutes, where guests observe the traditional process of designing and hand-printing Malaysian batik fabric, showcasing an important Malaysian handicraft. The final stop is Batu Caves, a limestone hill complex with three main caverns and several smaller caves. Visitors have about one hour to climb 272 steps to reach the temple cave dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Murugah and to explore the museum cave, which contains statues and murals of Hindu deities. Note that Batu Caves is closed for three days around the Thaipusam Festival, including the day before, the day of, and the day after the event. The tour includes an English-speaking driver and air-conditioned transportation. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. A surcharge applies for hotel pickups beyond the 5-kilometer radius. The tour ends with drop-off at the hotel or port in Kuala Lumpur.
