Hozen-in is a sub-temple of Manpuku-ji Temple, the head temple of the Obaku sect of Buddhism. In this quiet Zen temple where time flows slowly, you can experience zazen while listening to the chirping of birds and the sounds of insects. After zazen, you can enjoy a set that includes the vegetarian medicinal dessert “Temple Sesame Pudding” and matcha tea. The zazen experience will be carefully explained by a monk, so even first-timers are welcome to join. “Temple Sesame Pudding” is a vegetarian medicinal dessert made by the head priest of Manpuku-ji Temple. The sesame pudding is topped with brown syrup and wrapped in soft white rice cake.
