The Lake District National Park in England is known for its large lakes, valleys, and historic villages. This full-day rail tour from London includes a reserved train journey from London Euston to Oxenholme Station with free Wi-Fi on board. Upon arrival, an expert guide meets the group to begin a small-group bus tour around the Lake District. The bus route follows the shores of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake, where participants take a 45-minute scenic cruise. The tour also stops in Hawkshead, a medieval village with narrow alleys, a 16th-century church, and links to poet William Wordsworth. Visitors have about 45 minutes to explore Hawkshead’s streets and shops, including the Hawkshead Relish Company. The tour includes visits to the Langdale Valley, Tarn Hows, and the village of Coniston, known for Coniston Water and its history with Donald Campbell CBE, a water speed record holder. At Tarn Hows, the group can take in views of a well-known beauty spot. A stop is made at Hill Top House, the former home of Beatrix Potter, where guests spend about 30 minutes. If Hill Top House is closed (Fridays outside UK school holidays or November to February), the tour visits the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness instead. The day includes a traditional English cream tea served during the tour. After completing the sightseeing, the group returns to Oxenholme Station for the reserved train back to London Euston. The total duration of the tour is about 13 hours. Lunch is not included, and hotel pickup or drop off is not provided. Gratuities are also not included.
