Overview

The Las Vegas Emerald Cave Kayak Tour is a guided three-hour paddle covering four to five miles roundtrip from Willow Beach to Emerald Cave along the Black Canyon. The tour uses single or double kayaks with life vests provided. Participants stop for swimming, snacks, and a short hike near the cave. Small groups are led by professional guides who assist all skill levels. Wildlife is commonly seen along the volcanic cliffs of the canyon. An optional shuttle service from Mandalay Bay provides round-trip transportation and includes park entry fees. Without the shuttle, participants meet at Willow Beach and are responsible for park entrance fees if applicable.

Itinerary

Willow Beach Launch

Begin a 3.5-hour kayak trip covering 5 miles round-trip from Willow Beach, led by a U.S. National Kayak Champion guide. The tour group is limited to 12 paddlers for focused guidance. Paddle through Black Canyon while watching for Desert Big Horn Sheep and Bald Eagles. The first stop is a historical overlook one mile upstream, reached by a 5-6 minute hike, where the guide explains the Colorado River's history. The tour ends at Emerald Cave. Wearing water shoes or sandals is recommended because entering and exiting the kayak requires contact with water.

Meeting point

If you booked the 'WITH SHUTTLE' option, we will meet at Mandalay Bay at the Valet Pick-up area at 9am. If you booked the 'SELF-DRIVE' option then you will meet us at 10am at Willow Beach. A text message with all details will be sent to you one day before your trip.
