Itinerary
Leaning Tower of Pisa
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is famous worldwide for its tilt caused by unstable ground beneath. Construction took nearly 200 years and the tilt began before completion. Visitors have 30 minutes to climb the 294 steps of the spiral staircase to the top. The steps are uneven and slant in different directions. From the balcony, you can see panoramic views over Pisa, including the Piazza dei Miracoli and other monuments like Pisa Cathedral and the Campo Santo cemetery.
Duomo di Pisa
You will then visit the interior of Pisa Cathedral on your own. The cathedral is an example of Pisa Romanesque architecture with a facade detailed in marble and bronze doors. Inside, the space features mosaics, frescoes, and decorated columns that showcase its distinctive style.
