The boat is a historic vessel built in Germany using recycled World War I tanks. It was the first boat worldwide to have stainless steel propellers and the first diesel-powered boat in Portugal, replacing steam-powered vessels. The tour departs near the LACS building and OKAH restaurant, where the blue and white Barco Evora is docked. Along the river, passengers pass several notable sights including Praça do Comércio, one of Europe’s largest riverfront squares; Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district; and the Cristo Rei sanctuary, which overlooks the river.
