This three-hour ocean safari departs from Lisbon on a fast and stable 8.5-meter Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) with a Marine Biologist guide. The tour begins by heading out into the Atlantic Ocean along the coastline to search for dolphins and other marine wildlife. Participants assist in scanning the sea using scientific techniques to locate dolphins, whales, sunfish, sharks, jellyfish, sea turtles, and various seabirds. The boat provides safety equipment including lifejackets and comfortable jockey seats, with the option to stand for better views. Motion-sickness pills are available if needed. After exploring the marine environment, the boat returns via the Tagus River, passing landmarks such as the 25th of April Bridge and monuments in Belem. The tour operates with up to two boats, offering a chance to watch wildlife close to Lisbon’s coast.
Doca de Santo Amaro Dock
The departure point is in central Lisbon at Doca de Santo Amaro, located in the Alcântara area. This dock is situated just below the 25th of April bridge. From here, the journey begins through the Tagus Estuary towards the Atlantic Ocean. A Marine Biologist accompanies the trip to provide insights on the coastline away from Lisbon’s busy areas.
