Overview

This 4-hour Los Cabos Turtle Release Conservation Program is operated by Rancho Carisuva near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The program begins with a 20-minute visit to the ranch, where participants can see the turtles and donkeys cared for in the conservation efforts. A certified Marine Biologist leads the group to Playa Migrino, a beach where Olive Ridley and Black Turtles come ashore from July to September to lay their eggs deep in the sand. The baby turtles hatch about 45 days later, during which time the nests are protected and the eggs cared for to increase their survival rate. Participants learn about the turtle species, their habitats, and the challenges they face. The main activity is helping to release the baby turtles back into the ocean. The tour includes bottled water, access to bathrooms, and air-conditioned transport. Gratuities, a turtle birth certificate, merchandising, and photo sessions are not included.
