Overview

The Lower Yough Pennsylvania Classic White Water Rafting Tour is a 3 to 4-hour guided rafting trip on the Lower Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania. The trip covers 7.5 miles of Class II to IV rapids. Participants begin at the White Water Adventurers shop, where they check in, meet their guide, and receive all necessary gear including life jackets, helmets, and paddles. After a safety briefing at Ohiopyle State Park, the group launches into the river. The rafting route passes alongside Ohiopyle Falls and continues downstream through a series of rapids. Along the way, rafters will see where Cucumber Falls flows into the river. Rafts hold between 4 and 6 people and are guided by an expert throughout the trip. After completing the rafting section, transportation is provided back to the original check-in location. Wetsuits are not included but are available to rent for an additional fee. A state park fee must be paid separately at check-in. This tour requires no previous rafting experience and is open to participants aged 10 and older. For warm weather, casual clothing such as shorts and t-shirts with secure footwear like water shoes or strapped sandals is recommended. For cooler or rainy conditions, a nylon windbreaker or spandex/lycra clothing is advised. Heavy cotton materials such as jeans are not recommended.
