Overview

This private full-day bus tour covers major sites on both the east and west banks of the Nile in Luxor. The tour begins with pickup from your hotel, Nile cruise, or Luxor International Airport by a qualified Egyptologist guide. First, visit the Valley of the Kings on the west bank, where several famous pharaohs including Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tutankhamun, Ramesses VI, Merenptah, and Amenhotep II were buried. You will spend about two hours exploring the tombs here. Next, the tour continues to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This temple, built by the only female pharaoh of ancient Egypt who ruled during the 18th Dynasty (1490-1469 B.C.), is a significant monument of the period. Afterward, stop at the Colossi of Memnon for approximately 20 minutes, where you can take photographs of these large stone statues. The tour then crosses to the east bank for lunch at a local restaurant. Following the meal, visit the Karnak Temple complex, dedicated to the god Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. Spend about two hours exploring this vast temple area. The final stop is the Luxor Temple, built mainly by Amunhotep III of the 18th Dynasty and completed by Ramesses II of the 19th Dynasty. After the visit, you will be returned to your hotel or Luxor International Airport. The tour includes all entrance fees, lunch, private air-conditioned transport, a bottle of water, and all service charges and taxes.
