Overview

Travel 130 kilometres away from Hanoi and discover the quaint rural district of Mai Chau in Hoa Binh province. The village is well-known among visitors for its stilt houses or pile dwellings, made of bamboo and timber. The houses are elevated up to 12 feet above the ground to avoid water damage, protecting its residents from the harsh elements.
