Participants begin by arriving at the American Pro Diving Center in Crystal River, where they check in and prepare for the 3.5-hour snorkel tour. The tour includes the use of wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins provided to all guests. Once suited up, guests board covered boats that operate rain or shine, with hot chocolate served on colder days. Under the supervision of professional in-water Dive-masters and a US Coast Guard certified captain, snorkelers enter the clear waters to observe and swim near the resident manatees, also known as sea cows. The guides ensure safety for both visitors and animals throughout the excursion. A video recording of the swim is made by the guide and can be purchased later on a flash drive.
