Overview

This Medellín half-day coffee tour lasts about four to five hours and begins with a 25-minute drive from the city to a coffee farm. At the farm, visitors spend approximately three hours walking through coffee plantations and gardens while learning about the coffee production process from the seed stage through cultivation. Guests have the opportunity to pick coffee cherries by hand and receive explanations about the factors that contribute to the farm's organic coffee quality. The farm visit includes a tasting of coffee brewed on-site from freshly harvested beans, providing a direct experience of coffee from the seed to the cup. After the farm, the tour continues with a two-hour visit to a specialty coffee micro-roastery and lab. There, a local expert team demonstrates the industrial steps coffee undergoes after harvest, including roasting techniques. Visitors learn to identify different coffee profiles and finish with a tasting session of several specialty coffees, including varieties scored by Q-graders. The tour includes private transportation, hotel pickup and drop-off (free in El Poblado, possible surcharge elsewhere), light refreshments, snacks, tour insurance, a translator, and tea and coffee. Lunch is not included.
