Overview

This Medellin Rafting Day Trip on Rio Calderas begins with pickup either from the operator’s office or from the participant’s accommodation in Medellín. The group then travels about two hours east of the city by vehicle. Upon arrival, there is a short 4x4 ride to the river followed by a safety briefing. The rafting portion lasts over three hours on class 3 and 4 whitewater sections of the Rio Calderas, which runs through jungle surroundings. Guides provide information about local wildlife and plant species during the trip. At the halfway point, the group stops for lunch on a natural beach where participants can also swim and rest. After rafting, private air-conditioned vans with professional drivers return the group to Medellín. The total duration of the tour is approximately eight hours. All necessary gear, insurance, lunch, and private transportation are included. A few days after the trip, participants receive free photos from the day by email.
