Overview

This private full-day bus tour starts with a pickup from hotels in Quito and includes private transportation with air conditioning and a guide. The trip heads about two hours northwest to the Mindo Cloud Forest area, passing near the Mitad del Mundo Monument where a photo stop is possible. Along the way, the equator line will also be passed. In Mindo, the tour offers several options including a 45-minute visit to the butterfly farm, where guests can observe butterflies in a large, natural-like habitat and learn about their life cycle. Then, the tour moves to the Mindo Nambillo Cloud Forest Reserve for about an hour. Here, visitors ride a cable car over the forest canopy, walk several trails to spot local flora and fauna, and view waterfalls. Later, the group visits a birdwatching area to enjoy organic coffee and watch numerous endemic birds at the hummingbird feeders. After exploring the cloud forest, the tour continues to Mindo town for about an hour. This town is known for activities like the chocolate tour, zip-line, cable car, and butterfly farm, which can be visited optionally. Following the day's activities, the tour returns to Quito for hotel drop-off. Admission fees to all included sites are covered, but lunch and any additional costs are not included.
