Overview

The tour starts in central Paris with a bus transfer to Vernon in Normandy, passing through rural areas with wheat and sunflower fields. Upon arrival in Vernon, participants visit the local open-air market to purchase items for a picnic lunch. After the market stop, bicycles and helmets are provided. Riders cycle across the Seine River to a park beside the river where they have a picnic lunch near a mill, with views of the countryside. Cider, a local drink, is available to sample during the lunch. After lunch, the group cycles approximately five kilometers along a bike path to the village of Giverny. Along the way, riders pass the village church and cemetery, the Hotel Baudy, and other landmarks. At Giverny, participants spend about ninety minutes exploring Claude Monet’s gardens, his house, and the water lily pond that inspired some of his paintings. The nearby American Museum of Art and village streets are also accessible. After the visit, the group cycles back to Vernon to board the bus for the return trip to Paris. The entire tour lasts about nine hours and includes roundtrip transportation from Paris, use of a bicycle and helmet, and skip-the-line entry to Monet’s Garden. Food, drinks, gratuities, and hotel pickup or drop-off are not included. Rain gear is available for a small additional fee.
