This Montana whitewater rafting trip takes place on the Yellowstone River, starting at the northern border of Yellowstone National Park where the Gardiner River meets the Yellowstone River. The trip covers about eight miles downstream and lasts approximately one to one and a half hours on the water. Including gearing up, gearing down, and a short bus ride to and from the river, the total time for the trip is about two and a half to three hours. The bus transfer to the river is no longer than fifteen minutes each way. Rafters will navigate Class 1 to Class 3 rapids, depending on current water levels, and should check conditions before booking. The route includes several named rapids such as Bridge Waves, Man Eater, Loonie's and Boonie's Revenge, Queen of the Waters, and the KING rapid. The trip also passes the rock formation called Devil’s Slide. There are stretches of calm water suitable for swimming and relaxing. All necessary gear is provided, including wetsuits, booties, helmets, paddles, and splash tops. This trip accepts children as young as six years old and is suitable for first-time rafters and families with a range of ages and abilities.
