This full-day bus tour follows California's Highway No 1 south from San Francisco, showcasing multiple coastal views en route. The route passes through Santa Cruz before arriving in Monterey, the setting of John Steinbeck's novel Cannery Row. Visitors have free time in Monterey to explore the town, visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium if they choose, and enjoy lunch and shopping. The aquarium features over 250,000 animals in more than 200 exhibits, including a walk-through aviary, a three-level kelp forest, penguins, and a million-gallon Outer Bay tank. After Monterey, the tour continues along the 17 Mile Drive, passing Pebble Beach golf course, the Lone Pine, and various coastal viewpoints with opportunities to see wildlife. The final stop is Carmel-by-the-Sea’s gallery and restaurant district, where there is time for photos. The return journey crosses Silicon Valley before arriving back in San Francisco. The tour lasts about 11 hours and is conducted by bus.
