Overview

Banff National Park in Alberta offers extensive natural landscapes including glacial lakes, waterfalls, and mountain views. This full-day bus tour lasts about 8 to 10 hours and includes pickup and drop-off in Calgary, Canmore, or Banff. During the summer season from June to mid-October, the tour visits Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Banff Town, and Johnston Canyon. In the winter season from mid-October to May, the itinerary changes to include Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Banff Town, Bow Falls, and Surprise Corner instead of Moraine Lake. The exact stops are confirmed in a tour reminder sent the day before departure. The tour includes air-conditioned transport and, in winter, crampons for icy conditions. Passengers can expect a one-hour stop at Lake Louise to enjoy its turquoise waters and mountain surroundings, with opportunities to hike or canoe. Moraine Lake, accessible only in summer and weather permitting, offers views of the Valley of the Ten Peaks and hiking trails. Johnston Canyon features waterfalls, turquoise pools, and walking trails with suspension bridges, lasting about an hour. The route also passes Cascade Mountain and Castle Mountain, noted for their distinctive shapes and prominence in the Bow River Valley. A scenic drive along Bow Valley Parkway provides chances to spot elk, deer, or possibly bears. The tour stops for approximately 45 minutes in Banff town in summer and 2 hours in winter. Lunch is not included but there is a one-hour break at Lake Louise Village in summer or Banff Town in winter for meals at own expense. When Moraine Lake is closed, the tour visits Bow Falls and Surprise Corner for brief stops. Guides assist with photography and provide information throughout the day. The total duration includes travel time. The itinerary is subject to change due to weather or road conditions, particularly in winter.
