Overview

This day-long cruise offers 8 hours of marine exploration around Moreton Island, starting with a guided snorkel at the Tangalooma Wrecks. After boarding at Newport Marina, the tour heads toward Moreton Island, arriving around 9:20 am. Participants receive a briefing and snorkeling gear, then take turns snorkeling under guide supervision through the shipwrecks, observing diverse marine life and coral formations. Swimming ability and a minimum age of 6 years are required to join the snorkel. When not snorkeling, guests can relax on the beach or the boat. Following the snorkeling session, there is about five hours of free time on the island’s white sand beaches for swimming, sunbathing, or climbing sand hills. Lunch is served onboard and includes fresh bread rolls, salad, and roast chicken prepared by local suppliers. Tea and coffee, morning tea, and afternoon tea are provided throughout the day. The tour concludes with an eco marine safari cruise along the island’s coast. Guests can watch for dolphins, dugongs, turtles, and stingrays while listening to educational commentary about the local marine animals and the island’s environment. Drinks other than tea and coffee are not included, and transfers to and from the marina are not provided. A health questionnaire is required before snorkeling to ensure participant safety.
